Turno Helps You Find Airbnb Cleaners. TIDY Manages the Airbnb.
Turno is strongest as a marketplace for vacation-rental cleaners, with checklists and lightweight operational tools around the job. TIDY covers the broader management operation for 3.9%.

My slightly longer take on Turno
Here's the ramble version. Turno is basically like a Yelp for cleaners, but instead of it being free, you have to pay roughly 12% on marketplace jobs. Now they do offer some rental-specific features, like they have a checklist. They have a lightweight inventory tracking system. It doesn't have a full restocking thing like TIDY does, but it's a lightweight inventory tracking system. They have good cleaners.
I mean, genuinely what they're good at is having cleaners in a marketplace for kind of Airbnb-specific cleaners. Now whether that's worth a roughly 12% uplift on all marketplace jobs, I don't know. But this is up to individuals, I think, to try to figure out. The exact published fees currently work out to around 10% to 13% combined, depending on how the host pays and where the parties are.
You could use the software with your own cleaner. However, in our experience, very few cleaners want to use a random piece of software. They don't like it, they won't use it, they're going to fight you. It's really hard to do. And if they're not going to use it, it's just not that much value to it.
Where Turno Fits — and Where the Host Still Operates
The marketplace is the real strength
They have good cleaners. I mean, genuinely what they're good at is having cleaners in a marketplace for kind of Airbnb-specific cleaners. The checklist, payments, quality tools, and lightweight inventory sit around that.
Marketplace jobs carry an ongoing fee
Now whether that's worth roughly a 12% uplift on the marketplace jobs, I don't know. This is up to individuals, I think, to try to figure out. The published host and cleaner fees currently add up to around 10% to 13%.
Using your own cleaner sounds easier than it is
You could use the software with your own cleaner and avoid the marketplace fees. However, in our experience, very few cleaners want to use a random piece of software. They don't like it, they won't use it, they're going to fight you.
Cleaning is one part of Airbnb management
They do offer rental-specific features, like a checklist and a lightweight inventory tracking system. It does not have a full restocking thing like TIDY does. More importantly, it is still mostly relating to the cleaning.
TIDY vs Turno
What That Means in Practice
The marketplace relationship is the important part to understand. If Turno helped you find the cleaner, payment stays in Turno and the fee continues on later jobs. It is not a one-time Yelp lead. Maybe that is completely worth it because they helped you find a very good Airbnb cleaner. Maybe you already have a good cleaner and it is not. I don't think there is one answer for every host.
Some products have introduced a few lightweight things for cleaning, but these are really trivial things, like, “Oh, when there's a job scheduled, assign it to some pro.” That just simply doesn't work. Again, pros are not going to use apps. They mostly don't use apps, and most people don't log in or do anything. There may be availability conflicts.
There are a lot of reasons why software does very little with the cleaning execution, which is the hardest part of it. So TIDY has been doing the hardest part for a long time. We've been doing the cleaning and maintenance.
The fee is ongoing because the marketplace relationship is ongoing
Turno does not merely charge once for an introduction. Marketplace cleaners must be paid through the platform, so the fee continues on future jobs with that cleaner. Compare that ongoing cost with the value of the marketplace and tools you actually use.
Turno may be the better fit when you mainly need a cleaner
If your Airbnb operation is already under control and you need a marketplace of turnover-ready cleaners, Turno may be worth its ongoing marketplace fee. TIDY is for owners and firms that want cleaning connected to the rest of management.
“TIDY is the most complete software solution I’ve seen and the concierge is great, and have helped my team a lot!”
